Field of use

• The preparation is a gastrointestinal therapy.
• The active ingredient is smectite (dioctaEDRIC), a cleaned natural, three -layer clay demineral.
• The drug is used to treat acute diarrhea in children over 2 years in combination with oral rehydration therapy (electrolyte supply) and treatment of acute diarrhea in adults.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against Smectit (dioctaEdrisch) or one of the other components of the preparation.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for:
  • Children over 2 years:
    • Daily 4 bags (about every 4 hours) for up to 3 days, then 2 bags daily (1 bag in the morning, 1 bag in the evening).
    • The dose should be adjusted depending on the development of the symptoms.
    • The total treatment period should not be longer than 7 days without medical advice.
  • Adult:
    • Every day 6 bags (2 bags in the morning, 2 bags at noon, 2 bags in the evening) for up to 4 days that can be reduced to 3 bags depending on the development of the symptoms.
    • The total treatment period should not be longer than 7 days without medical advice.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should,
  • you have to count on heavy constipation and stomach stones. Please contact a doctor.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The content of the bags must be solved before the oral intake and taken quickly. After a long time, it should be stirred well again so that the powder does not settle on the ground. The intake should be taken between meals.
• For children, please either use 50 ml of water (e.g. in a suction bottle) or mix the powder with semi-liquid food (e.g. baby, vegetable or fruit porridge, soup).
• When taking Smectit (dioctaEdrisch), it must always be paid to sufficient fluid intake in children.
• In adults, the powder can be stirred into half a glass of water or in semi -liquid foodi>

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this preparation:
    • if you have suffered from severe chronic constipation in the past.
    • The short -term repeated, as well as the chronic application, is not recommended. If you have repeatedly occurring or chronic diarrhea, please visit a doctor.
    • In children: always pay attention to sufficient fluid intake.
  • Children and frail people
    • In order to avoid drying out, treatment in children and frail people should always be in conjunction with oral rehydration therapy (electrolyte supply).
  • If necessary, even in adults during treatment should not be avoided to compensate for the loss of fluid.

 

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • This preparation has no proven or known influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
• Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Miscellaneous

- Other drugs not at the same time, but always 1 1/2 hours before or after taking the drug- a doctor should always be interviewed in the event of acute diarrhea with a high fever. The same applies if the medicine on 3. Day has not yet been significant improvement in the symptoms.
