Field of use

CHLORHEXAMED Mundgel 10 mg/g gel, 9 g, with chlorhexidine (pack size: 9 g) is used for temporary supporting therapy for bacterially conditional gum inflammation (gingivitis) and oral mucosa as well as after periodontal surgical interventions. With the practical applicator, inflammation can be treated by a single tooth, for example. It combats inflammation caused by bacteria and thus helps with gum infections.

Mode of action

Bacteria are the main component of the dental pads (plaque) and in most cases they cause gum infections. This is exactly where the antibacterial effect of CHLORHEXAMED Mundgel 10 mg/g gel, 9 g, with chlorhexidine (package size: 9 g) , which can be used as support in the treatment of bacterial inflammation. Particularly refined: The special application tip enables targeted treatment even smaller areas of the oral cavity. The oral cavity anti -eptic can be applied directly to inflamed gums.

The active ingredient is: chlorhexidinbis (D-Gluconat).

1 g of gel contained: 10 mg chlorhexidinbis (D-Gluconat).

Other components: 2-propanol (Ph. EUR.), Hyprolose, sodium acetate, macrogolglycerolhydroxystear (Ph. EUR.), Cleaned water, levomenhol and peppermint oil.

Contradictions

In the case of known overemeals compared to one of the above -mentioned ingredients, the product should not be used.

dosage

Application recommendation of CHLORHEXAMED Mundgel 10 mg/g gel, 9 g, with chlorhexidine (pack size: 9 g):

For adults and children from the age of 12, apply the gel 1 to 2 times a day.
The amount depends on the extent of the inflammation.
Immediately (at least 5 minutes before the use of CHLORHEXAMED Mundgel 10 mg/g gel, 9 g, with chlorhexidine (pack size: 9 g) the teeth should be cleaned and the oral cavity should then be flushed thoroughly with water.

Type of application:·
Application with the help of the applicator: After cleaning the oral cavity, you have a sufficiently large amount of gel with the help of the applicator directly on the inflamed areas in the mouth. Let the gel take effect for about 1 minute. Select the gel after the exposure time - don't swallow!

Do not carry out the treatment for more than a month. If the inflammation has not improved after this time, you should see your doctor/ dentist.

A longer application of CHLORHEXAMED Mundgel 10 mg/g gel, 9 g, with chlorhexidine (pack size: 9 g) should only be made after consultation with your doctor/ dentist.

For children between 6 - 12 years, the application should only be carried out on the doctor's instruction.

Taking

• Only for use in the oral cavity.
• Immediately (at least 5 minutes before) the teeth should be cleaned with a commercially available toothpaste before using the medicine. Then flush the oral cavity thoroughly with water.
• Application with applicator (9 g tube):
  • Use the applicator to apply the gel 1 to 2 times a day directly onto the inflamed (s) in the mouth. Let the gel take effect for about 1 minute. Spitting out the gel after this exposure time. Don't swallow the gel.
• Application without applicator (50 g tube):
  • Application for the treatment of individual inflamed areas: The amount to be performed depends on the extent of the inflammation. Apply sufficient gel to fully treat the inflamed area (s). Wear the gel 1 to 2 times a day z. B. with the help of a cotton swab. The exposure time is approx. 1 minute. The gel should be spit out after this exposure time. The gel should not be swallowed.
• Application with the toothbrush:
  • The gel is used 1 to 2 times a day. 2.5 cm gel are used with a moistened toothbrush such as a toothpaste. The teeth are brushed with the gel for at least 1 minute. The gel should be spit out after use and the mouth should only be washed out once. Don't swallow the gel. The toothbrush must then be rinsed thoroughly with water.
• Please adhere to the application regulations, otherwise the medicine cannot work properly!

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation.
  • Use the preparation exclusively in the mouth! When the medicine gets into the eyes or ears, rinse them thoroughly with water.
  • Don't swallow the gel.
  • End the application of the medicine and immediately visit medical help if you have a rash, swelling of lips, tongue, neck or face or you have difficulty breathing.
  • If you notice a feeling of wound or irritation in your mouth, end the application of this mouth and inform your doctor or pharmacist.
  • At the beginning of treatment with the medicine, there may be impairment of the feeling of taste, numbness, tingling or burning the tongue. These symptoms usually disappear with continued application. When the condition continues, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
  • Temporary discoloration of the tongue can occur. Discoloration of teeth, dentures or tooth fillings can also occur. These are temporary and can be removed by brushing your teeth or professional tooth cleaning. A special cleaner is recommended for full dentures. Discoloration can usually be avoided by avoiding heavily coloring foods and drinks such as B. tea, coffee or red wine are prevented.
