Cathejell® Lidocaine C: Gleitgel + Chlorhexidine + Lidocaine

By adding lidocaine, Cathejell® Lidocaine C also contains a local anesthetic effect in addition to the germ -stodic effect and is therefore intended to prevent pain in these interventions and largely prevent infections. The effect of Cathejell® Lidocaine C occurs 5 - 10 minutes after application and lasts 20 - 30 minutes.

Mode of action
In catheterization, the gel gently develops the urethra through the instillation before the introduction of a catheter or other instruments and forms a sliding film between urethral mucosa and instrument. The lubricant hikes through the urethra in front of the instrument and thus makes the pain -free gliding of instruments easier. During catheterization, the patient relaxes the pelvic floor muscles and this enables a easier transition from the instrument from the urethra through the outer sphincter.
