Field of use

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • in the case of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or one of the other components,
  • if you suffer from disease states or apply to you that can result in too high calcium concentrations in the blood or urine;
  • if you suffer from kidney stones;
  • if you have too high vitamin D mirror (hypervitaminosis).

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction in this package insert. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
    • Adults take 1 chewing tablet 1 to twice a day.
• The medicine must not be taken by patients with severe kidney dysfunction. No dose adjustment is required for liver dysfunction.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you think that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount of the drug than you should
  • A one -off overdose is usually without consequences.
  • Overdosing symptoms can only be expected if the drug is taken permanently or additional intake of other calcium supplements. Signs of overdose are: increased thirsty and fluid intake, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, exhaustion and pathologically increased urine excretion.
  • If you suspect an overdose, please notify your doctor. According to the severity of the overdose, it can decide on the measures necessary.

 

• If you forgot to take the drug
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake, stay with the previous dosage.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The chewing tablets are chewed and swallowed down.
• The chewing tablets can also be sucked.

Patient information

• Special care in taking the ArzneimitTELS is required in the following cases
  • If you suffer from a certain lung disease (sarcoidosis). There is a risk of increased conversion of vitamin D into its effective shape. The calcium level in the blood and urine should be monitored.
  • During a long-term treatment with the medicine, your doctor must check the serum level of calcium and monitor the kidney function by measuring the serum creatinine value. Surveillance is particularly important in older patients who receive certain medicines as accompanying medication that increases heartpiece (herzhicative glycosides) or diuretic agents (diuretics) (see interactions).
  • Should other vitamin D preparations be prescribed for you at the same time, your doctor should take into account the daily dose of up to 800 i.e. vitamin D administered with the medicine.
  • Additional intake of other vitamin D containing vitamin D should only be carried out under a close-meshed medical supervision. In these cases, regular monitoring of calcium levels in the blood and urine is required.
  • If you suffer from immobilization osteoporosis because there is an increased risk of hypercalcaemia.
  • If you suffer from a kidney dysfunction, vitamin D is carefully used to monitor the calcium and phosphate levels. In the case of severe kidney dysfunction, vitamin D in the form of Colecalciferol is not normally metabolized. Your doctor should therefore prescribe another vitamin D preparation.
  • The medicine can be harmful to the teeth.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy and breast feeding period
  • During pregnancy, the daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 i.E. vitamin D3. You should therefore not take more than one chewing tablet of the drug every day.
  • Overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided in pregnant women, since a permanently increased blood calcium level with harmful effects has been associated with harmful effects on the developing fetus. There is no evidence that vitamin D in therapeutic doses leads to malformations of the unborn. If a calcium and vitamin D deficiency occurs during pregnancy, the medicine can be taken.
  • Calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk. This should be noted if the child is also given vitamin D3.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.

Miscellaneous

- Have calcium and phosphate budget checked by the doctor in kidney weakness
- The amount of vitamin D should be taken into account when using further vitamin D medication.
- Since the drug already contains vitamin D, additional use of vitamin D or calcium may only be carried out under strict medical control. In this case, a weekly review of the blood and urine calcium levels must be carried out.
