Patient information
- Warnings and Precautions

- Your doctor may ask you to take part in nutritional advice before taking this drug. You will find out how much phosphate and calcium you absorb you through food and how you can keep the phosphate values in a healthy area.
- Your doctor adapts the dosage to the amount of phosphate, which you absorb through the food and which is removed via the dialysis.
- Regular monitoring of phosphate and calcium concentration in the blood is required to determine the effectiveness of the treatment and avoid increased calcium concentration in the blood (hypercalcemia). Monitoring should take place at least once a month.
- If medicinal products contain at the same time, there is an increased risk of increased calcium concentration in the blood (hypercalcemia). The simultaneous use of calcium and vitamin D-containing preparations must therefore be carried out under medical supervision.
- Please inform yourself from your doctor about the signs of an increased calcium concentration in the blood (hypercalcemia) so that you can see it early.
- Before taking calcium -containing drugs against acidification of the stomach (Antacida), you should obtain medical advice in order to avoid additional calcium stress.
