Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • if you are hypersensitive to calcium carbonate and Colecalciferolsind
  • if you have an increase in calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcaemia)

  • if you suffer from severe kidney dysfunction.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction in this package insert. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
    • 2 times a day 1 chewing tablet (corresponding to 1200 mg ionized calcium and 800 i.e. vitamin D3).

 

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the intake depends on the order of the doctor.
  • Please speak to your doctor if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount of the drug than you should
  • Overdosing leads to increased calcium excretion in the urine and an increase in the calcium concentration in the blood with the following symptoms:
    • Nausea, vomiting, thirst and increased thirst
    • increased urination
    • Constipation.
  • Chronic overdose with the resulting increased blood calcium level can lead to vascular and organ calcification.
  • Please contact your doctor if the symptoms mentioned above occur.

 

• If you forgot to take the drug

  • During long -term treatment with the medicine, your doctor will check your serum calcium level and monitor the kidney function.
    • Surveillance is particularly important if you are older and if you receive the heartpower (heart glycosides) or urinary triby agents (diuretics) as an accompanying medication.
    • With Hyperkalzämie or signs of kidney dysfunction will reduce the dose or cancel the therapy.
  • If you suffer from a certain lung disease (sarcoidosis), your doctor will only prescribe this medicine with caution because of the risk of increased metabolic change of vitamin D. In these cases, the calcium level in serum and urine should be monitored by the doctor.
  • If the prescription of other vitamin D preparations at the same time, the daily dose of vitamin D administered with the medicine must be taken into account. Additional administration of vitamin D or calcium should be carried out under medical monitoring. In such cases, regular medical monitoring of calcium levels in serum and urine is required.
  • If you suffer from restricted kidney function (kidney insufficiency), vitamin D in the form of Colecalciferol will not be metabolized normally. Therefore, you should receive other vitamin D preparations.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy and breast feeding period

  • During pregnancy, the medicine should only be taken by the doctor after strict benefit-risk assessment and only dosed as it is absolutely necessary to fix the defect. Overdoses of vitamin D during pregnancy must be prevented because long -lasting hypercalcemia can lead to physical and intellectual disabilities, aortic narrowing (supravalvular aortic stenosis) and retinous diseases (retinopathy).
  • Vitamin D and its metabolic products pass into breast milk. An overdose in the infant generated in this way has not been observed.
