Field of use

This preparation is a bronchose secretolytic (medicinal products for the mucus solution for respiratory diseases with a tough mucus). It is used: For expectorant treatment for acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with a tough mucus.

Mode of action

Bromhexin Hermes Medicines 12 mg tablets (pack size: 50 pc) With the pharmaceutical bromhexine, the bronchial tract has mucus and accelerate the removal of secretions from the deep airways. They solve stuck coughing and free the bronchi from unpleasant mucus accumulations in both acute and chronic diseases.

Contradictions

This medicine must not be taken
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against bromhexin hydrochloride or one of the other components. 

dosage

Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Adults and adolescents over the age of 14 take 1 tablet 3 times a day (corresponding to 36 mg bromhexin hydrochloride).
Medicines with a lower active ingredient content are available for children under the age of 14.
Duration of the application
The duration of the application depends on the type and severity of the disease and should be decided by the treating doctor.
If your clinical picture worsens or no improvement occurs after 4 - 5 days, you should see a doctor.

Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
Overdose
In the event of an overdose, no signs of illness that go beyond the normal side effects are usually expected. If there are severe signs of illness, circulatory monitoring and, if necessary, treatment -oriented treatment may be necessary.
If a toddler has swallowed significant amounts of the drug, please contact the next accessible doctor.
Forgotten intake
Once you have forgotten to take the medicine or have taken too little, please continue taking as described in the dosage instructions.

  • It is very rare about the occurrence of severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome in a temporal connection with the use of bromhexine reported. When the skin and mucous membrane changes come back, medical advice should therefore be obtained immediately and the use of bromhexine should be ended.
  • You can only take the tablets after consulting your doctor
    • some rare diseases of the bronchi, which are associated with excessive secretion collection (e.g. malignant cilia syndrome). Because of a possible secretion, the tablets should only be used under medical control.
    • restricted kidney function or a serious liver disease (the tablets are then used in larger revenue distances or in a reduced dose). In the case of severely disturbed kidney function, bromhexin's degradation products must be enriched in the liver.
  • Liver function should be monitored occasionally, especially in the case of long -term treatment.

• Breastfeeding
  • Bromhexin merges into breast milk. Since the effects on the infant are insufficiently examined, the tablets must not be taken during breastfeeding.
