Instructions for Use

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How should it be used?
Take the medicine with liquid (e.g., 1 glass of water).

Duration of Use?
You should only use the medicine for a short time without medical advice. If symptoms persist, you should consult your doctor.

Overdose?
An overdose can cause, among other things, diarrhea and fluid and salt loss. If you suspect an overdose, consult a doctor immediately.

In children and in cases of chronic constipation, the medicine should only be used under medical supervision.

The laxative effect usually occurs after 6 to 10 hours.

Mode of action

How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?

The active ingredient prevents water and salts from being removed from the intestinal contents. At the same time, it promotes the inflow of water and salts into the intestine. This increases the volume of the intestinal contents and makes them softer, leading to an urge to defecate and easier bowel movements.

Contraindications

What are the contraindications?

- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients

- Intestinal obstruction
- Acute inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases
- Severe abdominal pain (with nausea, vomiting)

Which age group should be considered?
- Children under 6 years of age: This medicine must not be used.

What about pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the drug can be used during pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding: According to current knowledge, there is no evidence that the drug should not be used during breastfeeding.

Notes

What should you keep in mind?

BISACODYL ADGC Laxative 5 mg gastro-resistant tablets

Active ingredient: Bisacodyl

Indications: For short-term use in constipation and in conditions requiring easier defecation.

Warnings: Children over 6 years of age and adults should take 1 to 2 Bisacodyl ADGC Laxative tablets in the evening with plenty of liquid if the effect is planned for the next morning. Bisacodyl ADGC Laxative is not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Available only from pharmacies.
