Area of Use

Bisacodyl ADGC Laxans 5 mg (Pack size: 20 tablets) is a laxative and reduces the amount of water removed from the stool and increases the amount of water and electrolytes entering the intestine. Stool becomes softer and bowel movements are stimulated.

Active Ingredients / Substances / Ingredients

Ingredients of Bisacodyl ADGC Laxans 5 mg (Pack size: 20 tablets) :

1 tablet contains 5 mg of the active ingredient bisacodyl.

The other ingredients are:

Tablet core: pregelatinized maize starch, lactose monohydrate (60 mg), microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K 30, talc, magnesium stearate.

Tablet shell: Methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30% (Ph. Eur.), propylene glycol, talc, titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

Bisacodyl ADGC Laxative 5 mg (Pack size: 20 pcs) should not be used if you are allergic to the active ingredient bisacodyl or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

If you experience symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever. These may be signs of a serious condition (bowel narrowing with impaired intestinal transit, intestinal obstruction, acute inflammation in the abdominal area, acute abdominal pain requiring surgical treatment, such as appendicitis). If you experience such symptoms, you should seek medical advice immediately.

Dosage

Recommended use of Bisacodyl ADGC Laxative 5 mg (Pack size: 20 tablets):

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children over six years of age should take 1 to 2 tablets in the evening as needed. The dose should not exceed 0.3 mg of bisacodyl per kilogram of body weight. The onset of action occurs after 6 to 10 hours. The recommended maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.

The tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of water, but not milk).

How to take

• The tablets are best taken in the evening, on an empty stomach, and whole with plenty of liquid.
• Concomitant use with milk and neutralizing stomach medications (antacids) is not recommended.

Patient Information

Bisacodyl ADGC Laxative 5 mg (Pack size: 20 pcs) is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
