Composition:

Active ingredient: biotin 5.0 mg
Other components: lactose monohydrate, cellulose powder, crospovidone (type A), high-disperse silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (ph.eur.) [pflanzlich]

Contradictions

May not be taken if they are hypersensitive to biotin or other components of the drug.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction in this package insert.
• Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • Take 1 - 2 tablets (corresponding to 5 mg - 10 mg biotin) every day.
  • Less than 0.2 mg biotin per day is sufficient for prophylaxis.
  • To treat the multiple carboxyl fang, take 1 - 2 tablets (corresponding to 5 mg - 10 mg biotin) every day.
  • Preparations with a lower biotin content are available for lower doses.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The medicine is taken up to normalize biotin values in the blood.
  • The duration depends on the course of the underlying disease.
  • Please ask your doctor.
  • With the very rare biotin-dependent, multiple carboxylas deficiency, it is taken for life.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

Miscellaneous

Signs of deficiency occurn usually not in humans. However, a vitamin H deficiency can be triggered by taking very large quantities of raw egg whites.
The vitamin H requirement is increased in the hereditary defect, the multiple carboxylas defect. A pronounced deficiency is evident in the skin and appendix and also results in certain psychiatric characters and gastrointestinal disorders.
