Ingredients of Betaisodona Advanced wound and healing gel (pack size: 50 g):

Active ingredients:
Carbomer, hydrated (3-SN phosphatidyl) choline (soy), sodium hydroxide, citric acid, dinatrium hydrogen phosphate, potassium iodate, povidon iodine and cleaned water

Contradictions

In the case of known hypersensitivity to one of the above -mentioned ingredients, the drug should not be used.

dosage

• Apply the medicine to the damaged area evenly on the damaged area one or several times a day (or every change of the wound pad). If necessary, a wound base (e.g. paraffingaze) can be applied.

Taking

• Only intended for external application; Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes.
• The preparation must not be heated before application. If the product is accidentally heated, it must be disposed of.
• 1. Clean the wound, if necessary.
• 2a. Apply the gel about 2 mm thick directly to the wound. If necessary, protect wound edges with an oily ointment or
• 2 b. Apply the gel about 2 mm thick directly to the wound pad*. Protect wound edges with an oily ointment if necessary.
• 3. Cover wound with paraffing sauce and wound pad.
  • *The relevant contraindications must be observed when choosing the wound. Do not use silver -coated runs.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • In addition to under medical instruction, this preparation may not be applied to infected wounds (e.g. purulent, hot, heavily reddened, painful wounds).
  • In patients with current or previous thyroid disease, the preparation must be used with caution. In these patients, a longer application (e.g. over 14 days) of the product on larger skin areas (e.g. over 10 % of the total body surface) should only be considered after careful use-risk assessment.
  • A doctor immediately seek if the medicine is accidentally swallowed.
  • If the preparation is used extensively for more than 2 weeks, the patient's thyroid function must be monitored.
  • Caution must be exercised in patients with renal failure and the application may only be carried out with the instructions of a doctor.
  • The gel can reduce the absorption of iodine in the thyroid gland, which impair certain tests and examinations such as thyroid scintigraphy, PBI determination and methods of radio iodine diagnostics and thus make a planned thyroid treatment with iodine (radio iodine therapy) impossible.
  • In the case of skin irritation, contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity, the use of this medicine should be canceled.
  • If the gel accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse it thoroughly with water and then immediately see a doctor. Don't touch your eyes until you have washed your hands.

Pregnancy

• During pregnancy and lactation, as well as in newborns and infants up to the age of 6 months, the medicine may only be used after the express instruction of a doctor and caution. With an application time of over 2 weeks, the thyroid function of the newborn/infant must be monitored.
