Field of use

• The preparation is a medicine to influence the organization system (vegetative nervous system) from the drug group of the alpha sympathomimetics.
• The medicine is used at:
  • Eye irritation, e.g. B. by smoke, wind, chlorinated water and light
  • allergic inflammation of the eye, e.g. B. Heuftieber and supervisory flower.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used at:
  • Engwinkel glaucoma
  • Hypersensitivity to tetryzolin hydrochloride, the active ingredient of the preparation, or one of the auxiliary substances
  • Children under 2 years.
• In the following it is described when you can only use the medicine under certain conditions and only with special caution.

• You may only apply the preparation after consultation with your doctor
  • severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. coronary heart disease, high blood pressure)
  • Phäochromocytoma
  • Metabolic disorders, e.g. B. Overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) or diabetes (diabetes mellitus)
  • Treatment with blood pressure-enhancing medication (e.g. Mao-inhibitors)
  • dry nasal mucosal inflammation (rhinitis sicca)
  • dry eyes (keratoconjunctivitis sicca)
  • green star (glaucoma).
• Explanations
  • The glaucoma is eggne disease where there is an increased intraocular pressure (so -called green star).
  • If the disease is caused by a narrowing of the eye chamber angle, one speaks of an angle -glaucoma.
  • Coronary heart disease is triggered by narrowing the blood vessels of the heart. This can lead to heart failure (heart failure), heartbeat disorders (cardiac arrhythmias), seizure pain (angina pectoris) and demise of heart tissue (heart attack).
  • A pheochromocytoma is a mostly benign tumor, especially the adrenal cord, which releases substances that lead to very high high blood pressure at times.

dosage

• Always apply the preparation exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• The following information applies unless your doctor prescribed the medicine.
• Drop 1 drop per eye 2 to 3 times a day with a slightly covered head into the conjunction.

 

• Duration of the application
  • An application over more than 5 days may only be carried out under medical control.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should:
  • Signs of an overdose on the eye are wide pupils. Characters may occur in mild form as with the preparation of the preparation (see also category "side effects").
  • If the liquid is swallowed, the following disease signs can occur:
    • Nausea, cyanosis (bluish skin due to reduced oxygen content of the blood), fever, cramps, increased and irregular heartbeat, cardiac arrest, hypertension, pulmonary edema (increased tissue water in the lungs), breathing disorders and mental disorders, possibly also inhibition of central nervous functions with sleepiness, humiliation the body temperature, too slow heartbeat, shock -like blood pressure drop, respiratory arrest and coma (deep unconsciousness).
  • In small children, there may be central nervous disorders, reduction in breathing and circulatory collapse.
  • If these disease signs occur, call the next accessible doctor to help!
  • Possible medical countermeasures are the gift of medical coal, gastric flushing and oxygen ventilation. Vasopressors (medicines to increase blood pressure) must not be given. If necessary, fever and cramps must be treated. If anticholinergic symptoms occur, an antidote, e.g. B. Physostigmine to administer.

Taking

• For use on the eye.
• Drop 1 drop per eye 2 to 3 times a day with a slightly covered head into the conjunction.

  • Warnings
    • Please note that an eye irritation or rotting eye is often a sign of a serious eye disease and you should therefore question an ophthalmologist.
    • Be sure to look for an ophthalmologist if
      • 1. the reddening of the eye appears acute or one -sided,
      • 2. in addition to their current symptoms, eye or headaches are added,
      • 3. Note a deterioration in vision or flying points in front of your eyes!
    • The eye drops must not be used for narrow -angle glaucoma. In other glaucoma forms, the drug may only be used with special caution and under medical control.
  • What precautions should be taken?
    • The eye drops must not be swallowed and are therefore unattainable for children.
  • Notes for contact lens supports:
    • If there are no objections to wearing contact lenses despite the present eye disease, contact lens carriers should remove the lenses before using the eye drops and only use it again after about 15 minutes.
    • Due to the risk of material clouding, direct contact with soft contact lenses should be avoided.
• Children:
  • The eye drops must not be used in children under 2 years. Long -term application and überdosing, especially in children, must be avoided.
  • The application in children and with higher doses may therefore only be carried out under medical control.
  • To avoid a possible increased absorption of the active ingredient through the nasal mucosa, especially in children, the tear channels with your fingers should be kept for 1 minute after the eye drops have been applied.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • In rare cases, blurry and glare can occur. You can then no longer react quickly and specifically to unexpected and sudden events. Do not drive a car or other vehicles in these cases! Do not operate any electrical tools or machinery!
  • Do not work without a safe grip!

Pregnancy

• The medicine must not be used during pregnancy and lactation.
