How does the ingredient of the medicine work? The active ingredient benfotiamine is a fat-soluble precursor (prodrug) of thiamine (vitamin B1) and is very well absorbed in the body and quickly converted into its active form. Like thiamine (vitamin B1), the active ingredient is essential for the functioning of the nervous system and plays an important role in carbohydrate metabolism.

Detailed instructions for BENFO-biomo 300 mg film-coated tablets, 30 pcs
Field of use
- The preparation is a vitamin preparation which contains benfotiamine.
- It is used to treat vitamin B1 deficiency (when there is not enough vitamin B1 in your body) if this cannot be corrected with an appropriate diet.
- Although vitamin B1 occurs naturally in many foods (particularly yeast, whole grains, meat, and beans), sometimes your body needs a supplement. This may be because your diet does not contain enough vitamin B1 or because you are not getting enough of it from your diet. You may also have a special need for additional vitamin B1 (e.g. if you have diabetes), especially if you excrete it from your body more quickly (e.g. in your urine), if you have consumed excessive amounts of alcohol or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- The medicine is intended for use in adults.
