Application areas:
Amofin contains Amorolfin, a mushroom to combat a variety of different fungi that can cause nail diseases. Amofin is used to treat fungal diseases on the nail surface.
Contact your doctor if you are not sure whether your disease can be treated with Amofin.
Detailed instructions for AMOFIN 5% nail polish, 5 ml
Field of use
- This preparation is a drug (broad spectrum antimycotic) for the treatment of fungal diseases (mycosis) of the nails without the involvement of the nail root (nail matrix). It contains the active ingredient amorolfin, a mushroom to combat a variety of different mushrooms that can cause nail fungal infection.
- The medicine is used to treat nail fungus if the nail is infested of up to 80% (especially in the front area).

Contradictions
- The medicine must not be used
- if you have reacted to Amorolfin or one of the other components.
dosage
- Always apply the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the drug is used as follows:
- Apply the medicine to the infected finger or toenails once a week. Continue the treatment until the sick nails have grown out healthy (normal appearance of the nail).
- Duration of the application:
- Mushroom infections are often very persistent. You therefore have to carry out the treatment continuously once a week until the nail has grown completely healthy. The time required for this is generally 6 months (fingernails) or 9 to 12 months (toenails), with the degree of infestation playing an important role. The nail growth speed is approx. 1 to 2 mm per month.
- Important: If you or someone else have accidentally swallowed the nail polish, see your doctor, your pharmacist or the nearest hospital immediately.
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
- If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Taking
- Please note the following information when using:
- Before the 1st application:
- Be sure to file out the diseased parts of the nail surfaces as well as possible. To filed for all other applications as required (e.g. when the nails thicken).
- Before every further application:
- 1. Use an alcohol swab for cleaning the nail surface. Any remnants of paint are also removed.
- 2. Please remove the nail polish with one of the included, reusable spatula. Improving the spatula for every nail to be treated and do not touch it off on the bottle neck (risk of drying).
- 3. Apply the nail polish with the spatula evenly to the entire area of the sick nail.
- 4. Close the bottle well immediately after each use to avoid drying out the solution.
- 5. Let the treated nails dry for 10 minutes.
- 6. To reuse, clean the spatula after use with an alcohol swab or with a cotton ball soaked with nail polish remover.
- What must also be considered in the case of nail fungus treatment?
- A nail file used for treatment may be for care healthy nails are no longer used, since otherwise healthy nails can be infected with nail fungus. Use separate disposable to the treatment of diseased nails.
- The lacquer layer on the fingernails can be dissolved or removed when dealing with organic solvents (nitrover thinner, turpentine set, etc.). Therefore, when working with such means, you have to wear uncontrollable gloves to protect the lacquer layer.
Patient information
- Particular caution is required.
- Nail files used for sick nails must not be used for healthy nails.
- There are still no experience with infants, children and adolescents.
- Avoid any contact with your eyes, ears and mucous membranes.
- No artificial nails should be used during the application. Patients who work with organic solvents (dilution, test petrol, etc.) must wear impermeable gloves to protect the layer of nail polish on the fingernails. Otherwise the nail polish will be replaced.
- Wateriness and ability to operate machines
- This preparation has no or a negligible influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines.
Pregnancy
- If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
- There are only limited experiences about the use of nail polish during pregnancy and lactation.
- This preparation should not be used during pregnancy and lactation if it is not clearly required.
