Field of use

• The preparation is a medicine for the mucus solution for respiratory diseases with a tough mucus (expectorant).
• The medicine is used
  • for expectorant treatment for acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with a tough mucus.

Contradictions

• You must not take the medicine,
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against ambroxol or one of the other components of the drug.

dosage

• The following information applies unless your doctor prescribed the medicine. Please adhere to the application regulations, otherwise the drug cannot work properly. If you are not quite sure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.
• Children up to 2 years**
  • take 2.5 ml juice* (corresponding to 15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day) twice a day.
• Children from 2 to 5 years
  • take 2.5 ml juice* 3 times a day (corresponding to 22.5 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
• Children from 6 to 12 years
  • take 5 ml of juice* 2-3 times a day (corresponding to 30-45 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
• Young people aged 12 and over and adults
  • take 10 ml of juice* (corresponding to 90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day) 3 times a day during the first 2-3 days, then 10 ml of juice* (corresponding to 60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
• * To measure the dose, the pack is included in a correspondingly marked measuring cup. Take the juice after meals with the help of the measuring cup.

  • The expectorant effect of the drug is improved by hydration.
• Notice:
  • If you suffer from a limited kidney function or a serious liver disease, you must increase the revenue distances of the drug or reduce the dose.

 

• How long should you take the medicine?
  • Do not take the preparation without a medical advice for more than 4-5 days. If no improvement occurs after this time or your clinical picture worsens, you should see a doctor.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount of the drug than you should
  • Serious symptoms of poisoning have not been observed when the ambroxol was overdosed. It was reported on short -term unrest and diarrhea. In the event of accidental or intended extreme overdose, increased saliva secretion, strangling, vomiting and blood pressure drop can occur.
  • If you have taken the medicine in too large quantities, please contact a doctor. Acute measures, such as triggering vomiting and gastric flushing, are not generally indicated and are only considered to be extremely overdosed. Treatment is recommended according to the appearing appearances of the overdose.

  • if you suffer from a limited kidney function or severe liver disease. You may only take the medicine at larger intervals or reduced dose.
  • if you suffer from a rare disease of the bronchi, which is accompanied by excessive secretion collection (e.g. malignant cilia syndrome). Because of a possible secretion, you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor in this case.
  • the drug may only be used in children under 2 years under medical control.
  • It has been very rare about the occurrence of severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome in a temporal connection with the application of ambroxol. When the skin and mucous membrane changes come back, you should therefore immediately obtain medical advice and end the application of ambroxol.

  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• So far there is no sufficient experiences on people. You should therefore only take the medicine during pregnancy, especially during the first third, only according to your doctor and only after he has carried out careful risk-risk assessment.
• The active ingredient from the medicine merges into breast milk in the animal. Since there has been no sufficient experience in humans so far, you should only take the medicine during breastfeeding when you order your doctor.

- If the drug is combined with coughing medication (e.g. codeine), a dangerous secretion can arise due to the restricted cough reflex, so that the need for this combination treatment should be particularly carefully placed. Applications (dosage interval) are extended.
