Field of use

• Medicines for mucus solution for respiratory diseases with a tough mucus (expectorant). The medicine is used for mucus -proceeding treatment for acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with a tough mucus.

Contradictions

• You must not take the medicine,
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against ambroxol or one of the other components.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is
  • Children up to 2 years**
    • take 1 ml drops 2 times a day* (corresponding to 15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
    • **only according to medical instruction
  • Children from 2 to 5 years
    • take 1 ml of drops 3 times a day* (corresponding to 22.5 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
  • Children from 6 to 12 years
    • take 2 ml drops 2 to 3 times a day* (corresponding to 30- 45 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
  • Young people aged 12 and over and adults
    • during the first 2-3 days 3 ml of drops 3 times a day* (corresponding to 90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day), then 4 ml drops twice a day* (corresponding to 60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
    • * To measure the dose, the pack is included in a correspondingly marked measuring cup.
• Notice:
  • If you suffer from a limited kidney function or severe liver disease, you must enlarge the ambroxol's income distances or reduce the dose.

 

• How long should you take the medicine?
  • Do not take the drug without medical advice for more than 4-5 days. If no improvement occurs after this time or your clinical picture worsens, you should see a doctor.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Serious symptoms of poisoning have not been observed when the ambroxol was overdosed. It was reported on short -term unrest and diarrhea. In the event of accidental or intended extreme overdose, increased saliva secretion, strangling, vomiting and blood pressure drop can occur.
  • If you have taken the medicine in too large quantities, please contact a doctor. Acute measures, such as triggering vomiting and gastric flushing, are not generally indicated and are only considered to be extremely overdosed. Treatment is recommended according to the appearing appearances of the overdose.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double dose. Once you have forgotten to take the medicine or have taken too little, please continue taking as described in the dosage instructions next time.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• After meals, take the drops in liquid (e.g. water, tea or juice) diluted.
• Notice:
  • The expectorant effect of ambroxol is by liquidimproved.

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking it is required,
  • if you suffer from a limited kidney function or severe liver disease. You may only take the medicine at larger intervals or reduced dose.
  • if you suffer from a rare disease of the bronchi, which is accompanied by excessive secretion collection (e.g. malignant cilia syndrome). Because of a possible secretion, you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor in this case.
  • It has been very rare about the occurrence of severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome in a temporal connection with the application of ambroxol. When the skin and mucous membrane changes come back, you should therefore immediately obtain medical advice and end the application of ambroxol.
  • Children
    • Ambroxol may only be applied to medical instructions in children under 2 years.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• So far there is no sufficient experiences on people. You should therefore only take the medicine during pregnancy, especially during the first third, only according to your doctor and only after he has carried out careful risk-risk assessment.
• The active ingredient merges into breast milk in the animal. Since there has been no sufficient experience in humans so far, you should only take the medicine during breastfeeding when you order your doctor.

Miscellaneous

- If the drug is used with anti -coughing agents (e.g. codeine), a dangerous secretion can arise due to the restricted cough reflex, so that the need for this combination treatment should be particularly carefully placed.

- In the event of serious kidney function, the conservation dose should be reduced accordingly or the distance between the applications (dosage interval) should be extended.
- The expectorant effect of the drug is supported by fluid intake.
