Field of use

• The medicine is a medicine for mucus solution for respiratory diseases with a tough mucus (expectorant).
• The medicine is used
  • for expectorant treatment for acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with a tough mucus.

Contradictions

• You must not take the medicine,
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against ambroxol or one of the other components of the medicine.

dosage

• The following information applies unless your doctor prescribed the medicine. Please adhere to the application regulations, otherwise the drug cannot work properly. If you are not quite sure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Children from 6 to 12 years take ½ tablet 2 to 3 times a day (corresponding to 30-45 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
  • Young people aged 12 and over and adults take 1 tablet 3 times a day during the first 2-3 days (corresponding to 90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day), then 1 tablet 2 times a day (corresponding to 60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
  • An increase in effectiveness may be possible by taking 60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride (corresponds to 120 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).
  • Notice:
    • If you suffer from a limited kidney function or a serious liver disease, you must enlarge the revenue distances from the medicine or reduce the dose.

 

• How long should you take the medicine?
  • Do not take the medicine without a medical advice for more than 4-5 days. If no improvement occurs after this time or your clinical picture worsens, you should see a doctor.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount of the medicine than you should
  • Serious symptoms of poisoning have not been observed when the ambroxol was overdosed. It was reported on short -term unrest and diarrhea. In the event of accidental or intended extreme overdose, increased saliva secretion, strangling, vomiting and blood pressure drop can occur.
  • If you have taken the medicine in too large quantities, please contact a doctor. Acute measures, such as triggering vomiting and gastric flushing, are not generally indicated and are only considered to be extremely overdosed. Treatment is recommended according to the appearing appearances of the overdose.

 

• If you forgot to take the medicine
  • Do not take the double dose. Once you have forgotten to take the medicine or too little have taken, please continue taking the medicine described next time.

Taking

• Take the tablets after the meals with sufficient fluid.
• Notice:
  • The expectorant effect of the drug is improved by hydration.

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking the medicine is required,
  • if you suffer from a limited kidney function or severe liver disease. You may only take the medicine at larger intervals or reduced dose.
  • if you suffer from a rare disease of the bronchi, which is accompanied by excessive secretion collection (e.g. malignant cilia syndrome). Because of a possible secretion, you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor in this case.
  • The drug is not suitable for children under the age of 6 due to the high active ingredient content. Juice and drops with a lower active ingredient content are available for this age group.
  • It has been very rare about the occurrence of severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome in a temporal connection with the application of ambroxol. If the skin and mucosal changes are recovered, you should therefore immediately
    obtain medical advice and end the application of ambroxol.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy and breast feeding period
  • So far there is no sufficient experiences on people. You should therefore only take the medicine during pregnancy, especially during the first third, only according to your doctor and only after he has carried out careful risk-risk assessment.
  • The active ingredient from the medicine merges into breast milk in the animal. Since there has been no sufficient experience in humans so far, you should only take the medicine during breastfeeding when you order your doctor.

Miscellaneous

- In the case of severe kidney dysfunction, the conservation dose should be reduced accordingly or the distance between the applications should be extended. Other dosage forms are available for this.
