Field of use

• The active ingredient of the drug inhibits the increase in herpes viruses (virustatic).
• It is used
  • for soothing treatment of pain and itching in frequently recurring herpes infections with blistering in the lip area (recurrent herpes labialis).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used
  • if you are allergic to Aciclovir, Valaciclovir or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine exactly as described here or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose is
  • The cream is applied to the infected skin areas thinly every 4 hours a day every 4 hours.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of treatment is generally 5 days. If the skin appears deteriorated during treatment or if the blisters are not crusted or healed after 10 days of treatment at the latest, the treatment must be canceled and a doctor must be visited.
  • The duration of the usage will be decided by the medicating doctor. Please keep these times even if you already feel better.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Once you have forgotten an application, then continue it as prescribed (for example, do not apply the cream more or thicker).

 

• If you cancel the application
  • For successful treatment, it is important to apply the medicine for a long time.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of this medicine, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The medicine should be applied by means of a cotton swab by being coated with an amount necessary for the size of the infected skin areas.
• When applying, care should be taken to ensure that not only the already visible signs of the herpes (blisters, swelling, redness) are covered with the cream, but also that adjacent areas are also included in the treatment.
• If the application is applied by hand, it should be washed thoroughly before and after, in order to add additional infection of the damaged skin areas e.g. B. to prevent bacteria or transmission of the viruses to non -infected mucous membrane and skin areas.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please note the following warnings before and during treatment with the medicine:
    • The cream must not be applied to mucous membranes (e.g. in the oral cavity, on the eye or in the vagina), otherwise local irritation symptoms can be expected. In particular, an accidental contact of the cream with the eyes is zu avoid
    • If you have a serious disorder of the body's immune defense (e.g. AIDS or according to bone marrow transplants), you must speak to a doctor before the start of treatment. In this case, it may be prescribed in tablet form.

  

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • So far, no effects on the ability to drive and the ability to operate machines have become known.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • The preparation should only be applied during pregnancy after careful use-risk assessment. Therefore, please speak to a doctor before using the drug.
• Breastfeeding
  • After external use on the healthy skin, Aciclovir is hardly absorbed by the body. The dose that a child would absorb by breastfeeding after using the drug in the mother is therefore low. If the preparation is applied during breastfeeding, contact the breastfed child should be avoided with the treated parts of the body.

Miscellaneous

-Um to achieve the greatest possible treatment success, the cream should be used at the first signs of herpes disease (burning, itching, tension and reddening). If the skin changes are pronounced and pustules or crusts are already present, virus-suppressive treatment with Aciclovir is no longer useful.

- Measurable aciclovir concentrations in the blood could not be determined after using the cream.
